Scott Denney
200530-N-AC165-0002 NORFOLK, Va. (May. 29, 2020) Scott Denney, 51, is one of Military Sealift Command Atlantic’s mission critical employees serving during the COVID-19 pandemic that has swept the nation in 2020. For the past nine years, he has served as a Marine Transportation Specialist at MSCLANT’s Jacksonville (JAX) port office in Florida, located at the Marine Corps Supply Facility, which supports MSCLANT’s mission to provide ocean transportation of equipment, fuel, supplies, and ammunition in the Eastern Atlantic to sustain US forces worldwide. Denney, along with his two MTS teammates, Dean Doolittle and Lawrence Dowsing, supports Mayport and Mobile Navy bases and the Navy Fuel Depot in Florida. Born in Titusville, Fla., Denney retired from the Marines as a Chief Warrant Officer Four in 2011. After 23 years of military service, he began his second career in 2011 as an MTS. When asked why he joined MSC he admitted, “Having challenging work while still being close to my hometown in Titusville is important to me.”
