NORFOLK (Dec. 19, 2020) Military Sealift Command’s dry cargo ship USNS Medgar Evers (T-AKE 13) returned to Naval Station Norfolk December 19, after completing a four month deployment in the U.S. Sixth Fleet, responsible for Naval Forces in the Mediterranean Sea. Deployed with 100 of MSC’s civilian service mariners, Medgar Evers safely executed the delivery of 3.6 million gallons of diesel fuel marine and 980 pallets of vital stores and ordinance during 31 underway and seven at-sea-replenishments with both U.S. Navy and Coalition ships from France, Greece, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
