INDIAN OCEAN (Dec. 15, 2020) Sailors assigned to the amphibious transport dock ship USS Somerset (LPD 25) observe a vertical replenishment-at-sea between the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and the fleet replenishment oiler USNS Big Horn (T-AO 198) during an underway replenishment between Somerset and Big Horn. Somerset, part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, along with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners, and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
