GUAM – From left, Maine Maritime Academy Cadets Matthew Chase and Elizabeth Labbe participate in bridge resource management aboard USNS Tippecanoe (T-AO 199) while in port Guam, June 25-27. BRM training challenges the master and crew to use all resources – people, training, experience, communication, equipment, anticipation and big-picture awareness – when facing a situation that may compromise the safety of the crew or the integrity of the ship. The cadets spent part of their summer break underway in the 7th Fleet Area of Operations with Tippecanoe. The fleet replenishment oiler provides food, fuel, and spare parts to U.S. Navy and partner nations’ ships operating in the Indo-Pacific Region. (Photo by Cadet Sam Buchanan)
