Military Sealift Command (MSC)
Capt. Janice G. Smith, Commodore, Military Sealift Command Atlantic, presents the Armed Forces Civilian Service Medal to Capt. Andrew Lindey, master of USNS Comfort. Lindey was one of 70 crewmembers of USNS Comfort that earned an AFCSM for distinguished service while serving as crewmembers aboard Comfort, during the ship's deployment in support of New York City's COVID-19 relief mission, March 30, 2020 to April 30, 2020. “How our CIVMARS conducted themselves during a national crisis was nothing short of amazing," Smith said. "They really went above and beyond the call of duty on this one!”
