JOINT EXPEDITIONARY BASE LITTLE CREEK-FORT STORY (Aug. 5, 2022) Military Sealift Command (MSC) Bob Hope-class Large, Medium-speed Roll-on/Roll-off ship USNS Benavidez (T-AKR 306) is anchors off the shore of Utah Beach in support of Joint Logistics Over-The-Shore (JLOTS). JLOTS is an expeditionary capability utilized by the Department of Defense (DoD) to transport military vehicles and cargo from roll-on/roll-off ships at sea to the shore via an improvised port when traditional infrastructure, such as bare beaches or austere ports, is unavailable.
