Mr. Charles R. Dwy Jr.
MSC FAR EAST deputy COMMANDER

Mr. Chuck “Disco” Dwy serves as the Deputy Commander, Military Sealift Command, Far East. In this role, he supports the U.S. 7
th Fleet by ensuring approximately 50 ships in the Indo-Pacific Area of Responsibility are manned, trained, and equipped to deliver essential supplies, ordnance, fuel, cargo, and equipment to warfighters, both at sea and on shore.
Prior to assuming this role, he served for 27 years as a Navy Supply Corps Officer from May 1996 to December 2023 attaining the rank of Captain and serving in various command and staff billets including: Operations Officer (J3), Joint Logistics Support Group Brunnsum (NATO); Assistant Chief of Staff, Logistics (N4), Commander, Logistics Group Western Pacific / Task Force 73; Deputy Director, Logistics Plans and Exercises; Director, Current Readiness / Port Visit Management; and Director, Fleet Ordnance, Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet; and Chief, Concepts Branch, Logistics Directorate (J4), the Joint Staff with additional tours in Naval Supply Systems Command; U.S. Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Yokosuka; Destroyer Squadron Fifteen; Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa; USS Higgins (DDG 76) and USS Tarawa (LHA-1) .
Mr. Dwy is a native of Richmond, California. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. He holds a Master in Business Administration degree from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
His personal awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal. He is a member of the Defense Acquisition Corps in Business Financial Management.
