INDIAN OCEAN (July 24, 2020) The Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Princeton (CG 59) steams away after conducting a replenishment-at-sea (RAS) while the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett (DDG 104) steams alongside the Military Sealift Command dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Wally Schirra (T-AKE 8) during a RAS. Princeton and Sterett are part of Nimitz Carrier Strike Group and are deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three critical chokepoints to the free flow of global commerce.
