Ship in the Spotlight
This week we are spotlighting USNS 1st LT Baldomero Lopez (T-AK 3010) for nearly 40 years of exemplary service to Military Sealift Command. USNS 1st LT Baldomero Lopez (T-AK 3010) is retiring from naval service. Named in honor of Korean War veteran and Medal of Honor recipient 1st LT Baldomero Lopez, USMC, the vessel was tasked throughout its illustrious career with providing logistical support for the United States Marine Corps and larger Department of Defense community. Predominantly assigned to operations in the Far East, the ship was called to emergency service in Gaza at the request of the President in 2024. To the USNS 1st LT Baldomero Lopez and all the mariners who served onboard, Commander Military Sealift Command wishes you a hearty Bravo Zulu for a job well done! Fair winds and following seas, shipmates. We have the watch.
