Ship in the Spotlight
Congratulations to this week’s Ship in the Spotlight USNS Point Loma (T-EPF 15). The U.S. Navy’s newest expeditionary fast transport vessel arrived Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek – Fort Story, (JEBLC-FS) in Virginia for the very first time on Oct. 24, 2025. Point Loma is named after the San Diego community of Point Loma and is the 15th Spearhead-class EPF operated by MSC. EPFs are known for their high speed, shallow draft, and flexible design, which allows for rapid transport of troops, vehicles, and cargo across coastal waters to support a variety of military missions.
